Item Description
Dix Morris is the founder and president of the Greater Castle Rock Art Guild. She celebrated her 70th birthday by donating 21 paintings for the Christian Children’s Fund, and with matching funds, raised nearly $30,000 for children in need. She has shown her work in numerous international, national, and regional exhibits where she has won Best of Show, First Place, and People's Choice awards.
This mask, "We are One with Nature," seems to have an eye-opening experience of finding itself in the midst of birch trees with a cardinal perched on one cheek. The sprig of holly berries is symbolic of the blessings nature offers. The cardinal was painted in pastels by Dix and transferred by decal process to the mask. Trees and background touches hand painted in acrylic by Dix.
