The Taffetas based their name on the real Chiffons and gained fame with a revue of 1950's songs that bring back images of poodle skirts, dates at the soda fountain, the Bunny Hop and guys who signaled approval by saying "hubba, hubba." Those images, as well as pictures of cars with big tail fins and Elvis, cover the mask's right side, leaving the other side as a red-lipped woman’s face featuring long eyelashes and curly brown ribbon hair. As the slogan says, "If you’ll just smile...”
