Jose Aguayo served with the 82nd Airborne before graduating from the Colorado Institute and launching a 26-year career in advertising and marketing for corporations and cultural organizations and becoming director of design for the Colorado Historical Society. Jose led the founding the of the Museo de las Americas and became known for his watercolor Southwestern landscapes. His mask is an interpretation of the Pre-Colombian Mexico sun god Tonatiuh - the symbol of life and hope.
