Item Description
The Matthew Shepard Foundation was founded by Dennis and Judy Shepard in memory of their 21 year-old son, Matthew, who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Wyoming in October 1998. The Matthew Sheppard Foundation works to share Matthew's dream of replacing hate in the world with understanding, compassion, and acceptance. The "E-‘Race' Hate" masks were made by Reny Sieck and Ellen Reynolds, retired Cherry Creek School art teachers. The peaceful representation of the Rocky Mountains is a message to "E-Race Hate."
