Sean Huggard is the Executive Chef and owner, with Steve Whited, of Denver's The Black Pearl Restaurant and Encore restaurants.  Huggard worked with Massachusetts artist Joan Tanzer to design his mask, centered around....what else...FOOD!  Tanzer created a montage of items from his restaurants menus together with related elements to paint a faux face.  What better way to showcase a chef than a representation of his "Tools of the Trade?"      With this mask comes  "Triple Eight at Black Pearl Restaurant" - 8 courses with 8 wines for 8 guests.  Black Pearl is a casual yet elegant restaurant that features a menu of contemporary American cuisine made from the freshest ingredients. The menu features appetizers and salads including chili fried calamari with pistachio and scallions, a spicy tuna and pear salad, and a full oyster bar.  Entrees include: scallops with bacon and elderflower served with apricot bread pudding; crispy whole fish charred with scallions, ponzu and lemongrass; and rack of lamb with warm panzanella salad and celery root puree.   All meat and fish products are naturally raised without the use of antibiotics and growth hormones; and more than fifty percent of the produce is organic and sourced from local farmers whenever possible. Owner/Sommelier, Steve Whited, will select wines to be paired with chef/co-owner Sean Huggard's menu.
