Item Description
Stanley B. Turner is an architect with Humphries Poli Architects in Denver. He graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia in 1990 with a Masters of Architecture and has participated in numerous fundraising events as his way of giving back to the community and created his Venetian Carnival mask for The Mask Project. His mask is a simple layering of Scotch tape and Prismacolor Art Stix which create a layered affect, giving depth of color and texture. He has been working in this medium for nearly 20 years to give a 3-dimensional quality to his works. The headdress is a composition of laser-cut wood pieces arranged in a radial pattern, which acts as a counterpoint to the texture and color of the mask.
