Item Description

20.5" x 30" framed photo print entitled "The Creation/Utah," donated by Stephen Trimble & Michael Berry Custom Framing.

In this four-panel photograph, Ansel Adams award-winning photographer (and longtime SUWA member) Stephen Trimble captures the colors and textures of the Utah landscape.

RED ~ the water-carved sandstone of the Colorado Plateau in its ultimate expression, a slot canyon in the Navajo Sandstone.
(Peekaboo Gulch, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument)

PURPLE ~ always, we live at the edge of the desert, where water comes unpredictably, leaving behind a pattern of mud cracks, tantalizing us with the promise of rain. (mud cracks, Muddy River, San Rafael Swell)

GREEN ~ with water, comes life—especially in the mountains. And with greenery, come the animals who eat those plants. (corn lily, Deep Creek Mountains, West Desert)

GRAY ~ underneath lies the elemental earth itself. (Mancos Shale badlands, North Caineville Mesa)
