ABOUT MORDICAI GERSTEIN
Along with writing and illustrating books for children, Mordicai Gerstein is a painter, sculptor and prize-winning designer and illustrator of animated films. Mr. Gerstein attended the Chouinard Institute of Art in Los Angeles before moving to New York City where he made animated films for 25 years. In 1980, Mr. Gerstein began writing and illustrating books, among them Arnold of the Ducks, The Mountains of Tibet and Wild Boy were all recognized with distinctions. Victor, his first young adult novel, was named by the New York Times as one of the best children's books.

Mordicai Gerstein received the 2004 Caldecott Medal for The Man Who Walked Between the Towers.
