This is the most luxurious urban hotel outside of Buenos Aires and delivers service and cuisine on par with top international hotels. The impressive white historic faade, a 19th-century Spanish colonial structure, sports grand columns and decorative cornices. The contemporary Bistro M, with granite floors, striking commissioned paintings, and an open show kitchen, ranks among the top restaurants in the region, known for its beef and its striking desserts. The rectangular outdoor swimming pool is heated all year and there is ample space on the sundeck. The uncommon, split-level guest room layout is inviting. Sofas, coffee tables and desks occupy the lower level, while beds, large closets and dressing areas are arranged above. Recent renovations show the chain's Grand Beds topped with the finest linens, a down duvet and plenty of pillows. Standard appurtenances are Bang & Olufsen TVs in armoires, three phones with data ports and voice mail, high-speed Internet access, minibars and safes. This package includes round-trip coach class service for (2) from any American Airlines destination in the 48 contiguous United States or Canada to any American Airlines destination in South America subject to availability. Upgrade pricing is available. The winning bidders can upgrade their coach class airfare to first class airfare by calling 800-209-6888. A minimum of 21 days advance booking is required as is a Saturday night stay. The winning bidders will be able to earn AAdvantage miles in accordance with the terms and conditions of the AAdvantage frequent flyer program. Miles cannot be utilized to upgrade these coach class certificates to a higher level of service. The certificates will have a one-year expiration date from the date issued and all reservations are subject to availability. The following blackout dates apply: 2009: Jan 1-5; Dec 18-31.
