LINDA SEIFERT BIOGRAPHY

Linda Seifert is the newest member elected to the Solano County Board of Supervisors Elected in June 2008, she will take office in January 2009 and will represent District 2 which includes Benicia, Cordelia, Green Valley and portions of Vallejo. She received 63% of the votes and defeated a three term incumbent. She is a compassionate public advocate who has spent the last five years after retiring from the practice of law working to improve the lives of Solano County residents.

Linda was born in Minnesota and raised in a small rural farming community. Her family moved to Anaheim when she was a junior in high school and she lived there until she entered law school at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento ten years after graduation from college with a degree in English. She graduated from McGeorge in 1984, was a member of the law review, and the Traynor Honor Society. She passed the bar and worked for a short time for the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office before relocating in Contra Costa County.

She worked as a litigation attorney until 1997 and was the first woman partner in her law firm, the largest firm in Contra Costa County. She represented individuals, cities, school districts, non-profit agencies, businesses and homeowners associations during her career. While there, she was President of the Contra Costa County Women’s Bar Association and was a member of the board of directors of the Contra Costa Bar Association when she relocated after the sudden death of her husband and meeting her present husband.

She then worked for the California Dental Association, a large health care non-profit located in Sacramento, as its General Counsel. Her work brought her in contact with the Attorney General’s office, the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Dental Board and several other state agencies.

When she retired several years ago, she finally had time to pursue her passion for community work. She is currently the Vice President of the Solano County Library Foundation, a member of the Child Haven Board of Directors, and President of the Green Valley Landowners Association. She previously served as a member of the Advocates for the Arts board.

She and her husband Roddy Feldman, a retired Fairfield dentist, live in Green Valley.
