GHOST HUNTING:

How to Investigate the Paranormal
Learn how to Investigate Cases of Apparitions, Hauntings and Poltergeists!

The new book from Loyd Auerbach

From by Ronin Publishing, GHOST HUNTING  describes the phenomena often referred to as ghosts and what parapsychologists think they really represent. In this manual, Loyd Auerbach explains the methods parapsychologists and professional paranormal investigators have used to investigate and study reported incidents and experiences of apparitions, hauntings and poltergeists.  He explains the technology used by ghost hunters and the limitations of the technology, when the equipment is and is not helpful (something ignored by so many thrill-seekers).

The book will give you a step by step plan to investigate paranormal occurrences.

In GHOST HUNTING you will discover:

How to tell paranormal events from coincidence and other normal-explanation situations.

What’s really going on in poltergeist cases.

How to tell the difference between an apparition (a true ghost) and a haunting (place memory).

How to properly conduct the investigation, from start to finish>

How to help people come to some kind of resolution with their ghostly encounters, including how to remove the phenomena (when it makes sense to do so)

All this and more…GHOST HUNTING shows how to tell the difference between the normal and the paranormal – and the just plain weird!  It describes how to investigate these unusual experiences by using the methods of parapsychologists and professional paranormal investigators to come to the right conclusions and determine how to “bust “ –or befriend – the presence.

Learn how to approach ghost hunting as an objective parapsychologist would to uncover what is really going on.

Includes step-by-step instructions for interviewing witnesses and launching an investigation.

Illustrated with many photos.

LOYD AUERBACH is Director of the Office of Paranormal Investigations and author of A PARANORMAL CASEBOOK: Ghost Hunting in the New Millennium, which hit the bookshelves October 1, 2005 from Atriad Press.  Other releases are GHOST HUNTING: How  to Investigate the Paranormal and HAUNTINGS & POLTERGEISTS: A Ghost Hunter’s Guide (Ronin Publishing).

See his website www.mindreader.com for a complete listing of his books.

Auerbach has recounted some of his more interesting paranormal investigations on a two audio-CD set called GHOST STORIES (Michael Scott Studios, 2001).  In addition, he has a video lecture ("Exploring the Real-Life X-FILES:  GHOSTS) and video seminar (with psychic Annette Martin). available.

The seminar, GHOST HUNTING IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM, is a 5-plus hour video seminar that also offers a test of one's knowledge in order to become a part of the Office of Paranormal's referral network. In 1999, he released the first videotape on "The Haunting of the USS Hornet"
(a haunted WWII era aircraft carrier in Alameda , CA).

He was a Consulting Editor & columnist for FATE Magazine, a 50+ year old national publication dealing with the “unexplained,” from the beginning of 1991 to the end of 2004.

The PEA is  an international organization of psychic entertainers (performers of including mentalism, bizarre magick, hypnotism, cold reading, and allied arts).  He is immediate past President of the California Society for Psychical Study (repeating a run from 1988-92), and was 1989 President of Assembly 112 of the Society of American Magicians, making him the first parapsychologist to have actively served as an officer of both a psychical research group and a magicians’ organization.
He has been one of the very few parapsychologists active in both psychical research and mentalists and magicians' organizations -- he's also served as Chairman of the San Francisco Bay Area magician/mentalist group Club 53.

In February 2005, Auerbach – along with HCH Institute in Lafayette , CA – launched a new basic Certificate Program in Parapsychological Studies.  The program, registered with the State of California , is the beginning of what will hopefully be a new extensive educational program in Parapsychology.

Loyd Auerbach has been an Adjunct Professor in Integral Studies (formerly Interdisciplinary Consciousness Studies) at JFK University since 1983.  The university, formerly in Orinda , CA ,  moved to Pleasant Hill , CA in 2004.
