Item Description
Leon Bibel was a remarkable artist in the New York City WPA Federal Art Project in the late 1930's. He was very concerned with issues of war and peace, labor and justice. He did a very small edition of 12 drypoint etchings of FOOD NOT CANNON, of which only one signed and dated 1937 remains in the edition. Upon his passing, the original plate for this etching was found in his studio. As his gallery, we engaged a master printer to create an edition of 6 prints on 100% rag paper with an embossed facsimile of the artist's signature.
