Item Description
This item is a must-have for runners and sports memorabilia collectors! Bid now on the tracksuit worn by Paul Tergat of Kenya during the 9th IAAF World Half Marathon, held on November 12, 2000, in Veracruz, Mexico! Tergat took his second World Half Marathon title and gave team victory to Kenya.
Paul Tergat held the world record in the marathon from 2003 to 2007 and is regarded as one of the most accomplished long-distance runners of all time. He was the first man to win the World Half Marathon Championship two years in a row (1999 and 2000).
In January, 2004 Tergat was named a UN World Food Programme (WFP) "Ambassador Against Hunger". When he was a child, Paul Tergat's family was too poor to send him to school with food. According to Tergat, he would not have gotten a full education were it not for the WFP, which provided his lunch at school.
This running suit was personally donated by Tergat who continues to advocate the end of world hunger and is a personal supporter of the Coins 4 Kids program.
