"This image deals with the false accusation of 6 African American males who were falsely accused of killing a white storeowner in Trenton, New Jersey. A woman named Bessie Mitchell, a seamstress from New York and the sister of one of the accused fought on their behalf to have them freed in 1946. Bessie's hands carefully stitched together the lives of these 6 men and she fought for their freedom."
