Harlie Sponaugle, soprano, is co-founder, along with Michael Patterson, of the Congressional Chorus and was executive director for 19 years. She is pictured here sitting on a couch in the White House during a break in a Congressional Chorus performance. She performs widely in opera, recital and musical theatre, and maintains a studio teaching voice to mainly adult students. She is also an instructor at the Sitar Arts Center, an after-school youth program that provides the best in arts instruction and experience to children in the Adams Morgan area.
