Item Description
Vintage woman's kimono haori--a short, semi-formal coat traditionally worn over a kimono--from the Showa Period (1926-1989).
This beautiful haori is all hand-stitched. The body of the garment is a mauve silk of medium weight with a delicately woven vertical wave pattern. The rose and cream diamonds are created using the traditional hand-tie-dye technique know as shibori. The haori is lined with a subtle flowered silk, and its ties--called haori-himo--are pale pistachio silk accented with silver thread.
This vintage haori is in excellent condition. It measures approximately 51" across at the shoulder, approximately 32.5" from the top of the neck to the hem, and the sleeves are approximately 18" in length.
