Item Description

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Born with a passion and gift to create, Beverly started painting at the age of five.  She painted her first mural at the age of fourteen entitled “Disney Castle” with Disney characters seen parading along the entire bedroom wall.  Beverly has been in several local shows not attaches to any one medium.  She enjoys painting with acrylic, oil, watercolor and pen and ink.  Over 100 murals located throughout Western Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Arizona have Beverly’s signature, along with being features in local news and Better Homes & Garden for painting a mural that transformed a young Red Sox fan’s bedroom into a stadium, complete with Red Sox vs. Yankees game in progress.  Other projects and commissions include a mural for the children’s section of Baystate Medical Center’s North Café, with her latest completed project being this four-and-one-half-foot tall fiberglass bear for the Easthampton Bear Fest.  Beverly’s other interests include (but certainly never limited) reading, spending time in the forest, and writing short stories and poems for children to enjoy.

ABOUT THE BEAR:

Ted E. Bear perches on a base that was created by Beverly just for him.  The top of the base looks like a cushioned seat.  Each side has a different scene on it, the front being the White House, one side has "the story of the origins of the Teddy Bear", the back is a painting of Mt. Rushmore, and the other side has the Presidential Seal and also the dates of Teddy Roosevelt's terms of office.
