Item Description

ABOUT THE BEAR:  This sculpture uses the fiberglass bear as a globe, depicting the eight species of bears of the world.  The species of bears are painted on the map corresponding to the origin of their habitat.  Paw print islands lead to each continent and a different bear species.  The puzzle piece design on the land signifies unity as were all the bears at one time before they split off into separate species. PLEASE NOTE: At the recommendation of the artist this bear should be displayed indoors to insure that the sculpture will last a lifetime.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:  Sara Chalifoux grew up and currently lives in the town of Granby, Massachusetts. From an early age she was drawing and painting at every opportunity. She later attended the University of Massachusetts to pursue her lifelong talent and earned a Bachelors in Art. She creates a variety of art work on the side including portraits, murals, and clay sculptures. Her artwork is described as meticulous and detailed, but the stunning result is always worthwhile. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, skiing, and other outdoor activities. It’s her hope that her bear will be displayed indoors at a wildlife museum, conservation center, school, or somewhere similar where it can be used to educate people about wildlife.  Sara can be contacted at mikigirl413@yahoo.com.
