Item Description
ABOUT THE BEAR: Presenting “The Gingerbear Man,” a big gingerbread cookie with all kinds of “candy” painted on. He features a working watch, and in his back pocket appears the gingerbread recipe used by the artist.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: “’Life is a journey, and art tells its stories.’ This is my quote, and I use it on my business cards and brochures. I paint from photos that are part of my life’s journey and those that others have shared with me. I do landscapes, seascapes, Irish themes & still life; I work in oils, watercolor and acrylics. I have lived in Holyoke with my husband Jim for 45 years. We have eight children, seven sons-in-law, twenty-eight grandchildren, and a cat named Nell. I have taken art classes at Elms College and with several local artists, most especially with Sr. Maria Joseph Nace, SP. In 2006, I painted a little horse for Granby, CT’s Painted Horse Parade. I have also exhibited in Holyoke, Westfield, Chicopee and Monson. The Easthampton Bear Fest has been a wonderful experience; I am so grateful to be part of it.” - Dianne Murphy, woon4942@yahoo.com
