Item Description
This item is a recognition model of the Japanese battleship Yamato, the largest battleship to sail in World War II. The model is 9" long and built 1/1200 in scale.
The Yamato was the flag ship of admiral Yamamoto during the major naval Battle of Midway and went to fight in numerous engagements including the Battle of the Philippine sea. She was finally sunk on 4/7/45 in an attack on US Naval forces off Okinawa after sustaining 10 torpedo hits and 7 direct bomb hits..... a testimony to her enormous size.
Please note that all proceeds from the sale of this item will go directly to the S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien.
