Item Description
One absolute beginner series at Capoeira Brooklyn and a T-shirt. You will enjoy 8 classes providing a foundation in the basics of Capoeira.
The art of Capoeira was created and practiced by Africans forcibly brought to Brazil during the slave trade as a form of combating oppression. Dance-like movements, instruments and singing disguised the martial nature of the art from the Portuguese slave masters. Capoeira is an energetic and joyful culmination of all the skills learned during the class and, as nothing is choreographed, a great lesson in quick reflex and spontaneity. The game is a conversation between two people using the language of Capoeira, testing one anothers skills with a combination of kicks, dodges, acrobatics and the foundation footwork of Capoeira: ginga.
Item Special Note
