Item Description
These are the women who helped create the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) which was founded in 1996 as the women's counterpart to the NBA League. Play started in 1997; the regular season is played from June to September with the playoffs starting in mid-September and running into October. It currently is composed of thirteen teams from around the United States. This set of 135 cards includes Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, Theresa Witherspoon, Kym Hampton, Yolanda Griffith, Tina Thompson, Lisa Leslie, as well as the entire USA Women's Dream Team who won gold medals at the 2000 Olympics.
