Maasai Moran on the Serengeti
Scattergood-Moore writes “My REACH plate was inspired by a 2007 safari in Tanzania, where I became aware that the Maasai, like many other tribal natives around the world, are being forcibly evicted from their traditional homelands…” Since the mid-1980’s, Scattergood-Moore has concentrated solely on creating large charcoal drawings and conceptual art projects. He has an extensive record of solo and group exhibitions. His work is included in numerous private collections in the U.S. He received three fellowships from the Massachusetts Council for the Arts and was nominated for the prestigious national Awards in the Visual Arts Program.
