He may no longer be with us but The King of Pop lives on in the hearts of fans worldwide. And here's a chance to relive a thrilling moment from the Triumph Tour by Michael Jackson and his brothers almost 30 years ago.
This photo ("King of Pop") - by celebrated photographer David Gold of Pawtucket, RI - is part of a trilogy of MJ photos captured by David at the Providence Civic Center on August 16, 1981. Items #99 ("Michael Jackson") and #100 ("Michael - Private Eyes") make up the rest of the trilogy, and only ten such series are to be created.
David Gold's work is in collections worldwide, including at the Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY. He has won numerous awards and has been the subject of several solo exhibitions.
Retail value per item is $500; the $300 opening bid represents only the cost of printing, and framing with UV glass.
