The King of Pop may no longer be with us but Michael Jackson lives on in sights, sounds and the hearts of fans worldwide. And here's a chance to relive a thrilling, pre-moonwalk moment from the Triumph Tour by Michael and his brothers almost 30 years ago.
This photo ("Michael Jackson") - by celebrated photographer David Gold of Pawtucket, RI - is part of a trilogy of MJ photos captured by David at the Providence Civic Center on August 16, 1981. Items #98 ("The King of Pop") and #100 ("Michael - Private Eyes") make up the rest of the trilogy, and only ten such series are to be created.
David Gold's work is in collections worldwide, including at the Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY. He has won numerous awards and has been the subject of several solo exhibitions.
Retail value per item is $500; the $300 opening bid represents only the cost of printing, and framing with UV glass.
