Item Description
This is "Country Kitchen" by Maxwell Mays, considered by many authorities to be Rhode Island's most collectible artist. This double-matted lithograph of Max's recollection of his grandmother's kitchen was donated by Holland's Gallery and Framing of Warwick, RI.
This artwork sums up a sentiment Max put on paper, some while ago:
I believe in cord wood, iron stoves, and breakfast
I believe in freshly baked bread and mail order catalogues,
ticking clocks, dogs and cats and corn right out of the garden.
I believe in families who laugh together and because of this
I believe in tomorrow and the day after and the goodness of man
and the joy of living.
Item Special Note
This numbered and signed giclee measures 25"H x 30"W
