Item Description
Whimsical, classic and detailed are three of the words that describe the work of Yana Movchan, including this piece, Generosity of Life, donated jointly by Yana and Providence's Royal Gallery, on Federal Hill.
A Canadian resident born in Kiev, Ukraine, Yana combines a mastery of Renaissance painting structure and technique with "magical realism" to create works that are at once formal, yet playful; contemporary, yet timeless.
This giclee, the first in a series of five artist's proofs, is a great example of how Yana's paintings include clues to deeper meanings, which echo deep in the unconscious mind. Her work has been compared to Velasquez, Colville and Magritte.
Item Special Note
This framed giclee on canvas measures 24 "H x 30"W
