Item Description

Donnelly/Colt is a two-person family-owned and operated, independent activist mail order service started in 1975 and still operated by Kate Donnelly and Clay Colt.  Now in their 34th year, their online catalogue offers over 1,200 items from union-made in the U.S. button, bumper stickers, posters, postcards, t-shirts, mugs, fair-trade hand-batiked banners, documentary DVDs, button-making machines and parts, and a wide range of union-ptinted custom-made promotional products for your project, organization, campaign, school, business, or service.

The Donnelly/Colt catalogue  (www.donnellycolt.com) is the oldest source for products and custom printing services by and for progressive activists.  We're members of Green America, formerly Co-op America.

Item Special Note

Pete Seeger had this to say in the Winter 2006 issue of "Sing Out!" in his column "Seedlings" which he has written in that magazine since 1954:

"At age 86 my memory is going. I rarely travel and only occasionally sing locally. But, I confess I'm more optimistic tha ever. Why? In spite of the horrendous things coming out of Washington, our country is full of hundreds of thousands of good little things going on. The powers that be have so much money that they can kill any big thing they want to. Attack it from the outside, corrupt it from the inside.  But what can they do about ten million little things? Wipe out one and two more like it spring up. They may be scientific groups, religious groups, artistic groups, sports groups, small businesses or some combination of all, like Clearwater. I call them 'Samaritan' groups because they are all trying to do something good...

Small businesses? Here's an example: In the 1970's Kate Donnelly and Clay Colt raised a few dollars and got a special printing press that could print bumper stickers. Since then they've printed millions. I had them make a small one for me, which I put on our car and on the gasoline lawn mower and the snow blower...I've given away thousands."
