Item Description
It's the harvest season, what better time to enjoy a fine calabaza - or, in this case, Calabaza #1? A calabaza is a West Indian pumpkin popular in Latin America. It's the subject of a series of original oils by Raphael Diaz of Warwick.
Raphael's works are found at the State Street Studio in New London, CT and the Alacaxi Gallery in Las Palmas, Spain - among others. An educator today, he was drawn to painting as an only child in New York, allowing him to create a world of extended family relationships for himself. Raphael supports Rhode Island PBS because he believes that the media and The Arts serve vital roles in educating the diverse populations of Rhode Island.
Item Special Note
