Item Description
Here's your chance to enjoy a true mountain getaway without the hassle of roughing it. Our generous donor is offering his quaint, but updated, knotty pine cabin for 7 nights for up to 6 people. This cabin is located right behind the landmark St. Pauli Inn just east of Pollock Pines on US Highway 50. If you visit in June, you'll find the perfect spot to read, nap, bird watch and visit on the spacious deck that overlooks the National Forest and the American River. Head out the back door with a picnic to the small sandy beach along the sparking clear river. Guests can also enjoy fishing, swimming and tubing in the river. The 700 square foot 2 bedroom/1.5 bath cabin is tastefully appointed and sleeps 6 with the following bed arrangement: 1 King room; 1 room with bunk beds and Queen sleeper/sofa in the living area. The kitchen is fully outfitted and there is a barbecue out on the deck. You'll be out of luck if you come to this lovely spot to watch television, chat on the phone or do laundry (no tv, phone or clothes washer/dryer)! However, there is a CD player and plentiful power in the cabin and in the winter the home is heated with an easy-to-use pellet stove. Nearby is the breathtaking scenery of the Ice House Road Recreational Area with a number of lovely lakes and easy to moderate hiking/biking trails. If you visit in Winter, you can enjoy Winter sports such as downhill and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at the relaxed and family-friendly Sierra at Tahoe Resort which is about 20 miles away. Occupancy is strictly limited to 6 people. No smoking. No pets. This offering is for a week's stay (Saturday to Saturday) and is available during the month of June or during the months of November through March (book early with the donor to reserve a mutually agreeable time for your visit). A refundable deposit of $150 will be required.
