Item Description

This beautiful hand blown glass bead necklace set in a gold-plated 16” chain is a stunning example of the power of glass in an artist’s hands.  The renowned designer Joyce Roessler uses timeless techniques to create her work.  Beads are made by drawing a gather of hot glass across the studio,  which is then cut into  varying thickness with a diamond saw. A lapidary process, which takes up to two weeks, gives the beads their final shape and finish; either a matte, frosted surface, or a shiny gloss.  Do you need to know all this to appreciate the delicate beauty of these glass beads?  But none of this painstaking craftsmanship would be so important if her designs weren’t so beautiful.   This work of art can be yours to enjoy for years to come and your enjoyment can be doubled by bidding on the matching earrings which can be found in a separate listing.
