The Make Your Dollar Holler for Conservation is now open. The auction will run from May 5, 2011 to May 15, 2011, with proceeds going to Eaton Conservation District-Michigan Arbor Day Alliance in order to support conservation.

Eaton Conservation District focuses on natural resource problems and solutions.  Our services include protecting groundwater, watershed planning, woodland and wildlife improvements, soils information, stream bank stabilization, conserving and restoring wetlands, providing tree seedlings, conservation books and information workshops.  The Conservation District serves as the link between the landowner and local, state and federal governments and conservation organizations.

The mission of the Eaton Conservation District is to promote and encourage cooperation with other individuals, groups, organizations, or agencies in an organized effort to conserve and improve the natural resources in Eaton County.

Michigan Arbor Day Alliance is a statewide program housed at Eaton Conservation District. The Michigan Arbor Day Alliance (MADA) is a coalition of organizations and agencies dedicated to the promotion and celebration of Arbor Day throughout Michigan.  Our dedication comes from our belief in the importance of trees and their role in community health and well-being. Currently, Michigan Arbor Day Alliance organizes the State Arbor Day Celebration, provides free educational materials, hosts workshops, engages in tree planting, coordinates the Go Green Youth Challenge, and assists communities in celebrating Arbor Day.

Auction funds will support conservation programs in Eaton County and the State of Michigan, tree planting, State Arbor Day Celebration, habitat restoration, environmental education for adults and children and much more.

We have a goal of raising $10,000!!! That is a lot of tree planting, environmental education and conservation management. Funds raised will be divided 50-50 between the Eaton Conservation District and the Michigan Arbor Day Alliance.

Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise. So, tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!
