The online portion of Gloriae Dei Artes Fdn Charity Auction is now open! The auction will run from June 5, 2011 to June 20, 2011, with the live event taking place on June 25, 2011.

Proceeds go to Gloriae Dei Artes Foundation in order to support Spirit of America band, Gloriae Dei Cantores and Elements Theatre Company. Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise. So, tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!

Spirit of America band

Won numerous awards including the World Championship of Marching Show Bands in S.Korea in 2006. 

Members of the band have worked with thousands of youth in the U.S, Australia & South Korea, and they are preparing performances & workshops and gathering refurbished instruments to take to South Africa in September! 

Spirit of America is partnering with South African organizations to:

Create a youth music ensemble in Durban, able to perform in festivals and parades. The Re-Sound program will provide refurbished instruments to this new band.

Give workshops to young people in music, performance arts, fine arts, and instrument repair in Durban and Johannesburg.

Perform their field show in King Zwelithini Stadium.

Perform their instrumental theater production nightly at the Mandela Theatre as the featured event of the annual Joburg International Arts Alive Festival.

Gloriæ Dei Cantores

The choir is presently making their 53^rd recording. 

In October, members of the choir will travel to Florence, Italy to perform at the Symposium of Contemporary Sacred Art.

The choir has been invited to perform Mozart’s Requiem with the Munich Symphony Orchestra in a twenty-city tour across the U.S. this November.
