The online auction portion of The Arc of Aurora's (CO) A Decade of Change event is NOW OPEN. The auction runs from September 16, 2011 to October 3, 2011, with a live event taking place on October 1, 2011.

LEGACY 2011 A Decade of Change offers a variety of ways to support The Arc of Aurora's work and values.*

Help The Arc of Aurora and help your own organization

Where else could you support The Arc of Aurora's on-going efforts to assist victims with developmental disabilities AND help your own community or your staff?

Mix Business Travel and Pleasure Bidding Opportunities

Some of our auction items allow you to mix business travel with pleasure ... consider our Hyatt or Ritz package when thinking about attending a conference and also wanting to bring a spouse, family member or friend. We make those opportunities easy for you with airfare and hotel for two packages while also allowing you to support a great cause!

The monies raised through this Legacy fundraising event will support the ongoing advocacy work of The Arc of Aurora, including our work with our local Collaborative to Address Crime Victimization of People with Developmental Disabilities.

The Arc of Aurora thanks you in advance for your participation and support.

* The Arc of Aurora is a not-for-profit membership organization that provides advocacy support for and with people with developmental disabilities through information and referral; community education; and individual, family and class support.

Make Your Bid to Support LEGACY 2011 A Decade of Change

This year marks The Arc of Aurora’s tenth year of actively working to address crime victimization of people with developmental disabilities, and A Decade of Change: Raising Voices, Shedding Light, Giving Hope, honors that work.

Our work on victimization issues began in 2001 with the outreach and fundraising to facilitate The Arc of Aurora’s three-part Project Illumination that debuted in 2003.

In 2005, we implemented a federal grant to train teams from around the USA on how to replicate Project Illumination.

In 2007, we implemented its second federal grant that provided for trainings in nine states on victimization. Additionally, The Arc of Aurora premiered V-Trail, a nationally distributed monthly e-newsletter.

Our work continues today with partners -- including the Aurora Police Department (APD), APD’s Victim Services’ Unit, arc Thrift Stores, Councilwoman Molly Markert, SungateKids, and others -- on the Collaborative to Address Crime Victimization of People with Developmental Disabilities.
