Carolina Ballet is one of America’s premier arts organizations. Launched as a professional dance company in 1997 under the direction of Artistic Director/CEO Robert Weiss, Carolina Ballet has since garnered critical praise from the national and international media, staged 80 world premiere ballets, and toured internationally in China and Hungary. While gaining global recognition, the Ballet has never traveled far from home in supporting the community and realizing the Dream of World Class Professional Ballet in the region.
An underlying building block of the Dream is the education of the children in the community, which we believe is vital to the future of Carolina Ballet, the arts and our state as a whole. In the past six years, Carolina Ballet¹s Dancers in Schools Program has reached 284 schools in 67 North Carolina counties impacting 57,000 students. The Program increases awareness of ballet as an art form while integrating art education with the core curriculum and essential life skills.
