A FACELIFT FOR CHESTERTON | 2015 FUND-A-NEED
No, not Chesterton the man, Chesterton the Hall! As in our Heights cafeteria, our Heights auditorium, our Heights theater. Chesterton Hall has faithfully served Heights men well for some time now but it needs a major facelift!
Architects have long known that how a room or building is designed affects the people who work and live in it. Leon Battista Alberti, a renowned architect of the Renaissance, argued that the classical forms of Florentine buildings would lead bellicose invaders to lay down their weapons in awe as they encountered such beauty.
With that thought -- and our students – in mind, we have chosen as our Fund-a-Need goal for the 2015 Winter Auction the remodeling of Chesterton Hall. With enough funding this project can be done in-house and completed before the 2015-16 school year.
Picture wood-paneled walls and new flooring with the durability to serve as a lunchroom. Imagine new lighting and a new color scheme. Visualize a proper stage flanked by columns to ennoble the room and the many men, young and old, who will use it for decades to come.
With your generous support, Chesterton Hall will soon be raised up to the caliber of the man in whose honor it is named. Please raise your paddle during the Fund-a-Need portion of the night and help us take home the grand prix of a proper multi-purpose room for our sons. On your mark, get set, go!
