Welcome to the MET Math Magic Online Auction!

Starting April 2, 2015 through April 18, 2015, the Mathematics Education Trust (MET) of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is auctioning Math Magic, an original watercolor painting prominently featuring tessellations, by the artist Robert A. Kercher.

Proceeds from the sale of the painting will support MET programs that are important to the teachers and students whom we serve.

The painting can be best viewed and appreciated "live" at the MET Math Magic Reception (ticketed event) at the 2015 NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition in Boston.

Separate from this auction, a limited number of Math Magic note cards and prints will be available for sale through NCTM, while supplies last. Prints are numbered and signed by the artist and are sold on a first-come first-served basis.

The artist’s works are in more than 1,000 private, public, and corporate collections, including the Nabisco Gallery (Hanover, N.J.), the White House collection of former President Ronald Reagan, and the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution.

Thank you in advance for participating in this auction to support teachers...reach students...build futures. Remember, your generosity enables MET to continue to support good mathematics educators to become even better. So tell your friends, family, colleagues, and community—together we can make a difference. Let the bidding begin!

Thank you for your generous support!

NCTM’s Mathematics Education Trust depends on the philanthropy and dedication of donors for its grants, scholarships, and awards which support prospective and in-service math teachers (Pre-K–grade 12), and teacher educators.

We are deeply grateful for the generous support of our reception event sponsor, Forrest T. Jones & Company. Special thanks go to donors through the years, without whom, we would not be able to award funds.

On behalf of everyone whom your generosity has touched, thank you!
