The Foundation Beyond Belief Charity Auction! is now open. The auction will run from May 25, 2015 to June 1, 2015, with proceeds going to The Foundation Beyond Belief. Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise. Foundation Beyond Belief is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation created to focus, encourage and demonstrate humanist generosity and compassion through four programs:

HUMANIST GIVING

Each quarter our Humanist Giving staff selects five charitable organizations, one in each of the following cause areas:

• Education
• Poverty and Health
• Human Rights
• The Natural World
• Challenge the Gap (charities based in other worldviews)

Members join by signing up for a monthly automatic donation in the amount of their choice, then set up personal profiles to indicate how they would like their contribution distributed among the five categories.

Carefully selected for impact and efficiency, our featured beneficiaries are secular organizations with the exception of Challenge the Gap, which features non-proselytizing organizations based in other worldviews. At the end of each quarter, all donations designated for our featured charities are forwarded, no percentage is retained, and a new slate of beneficiaries selected.

BEYOND BELIEF NETWORK

The Foundation also sponsors over 100 humanist volunteer teams through our Beyond Belief Network – local freethought groups working to improve their communities. Learn more about BBN, or fill out the team application form for your freethought group.

HUMANIST DISASTER RECOVERY

In cooperation with the American Humanist Association, our Humanist Disaster Recovery (HDR) program serves as the focal point for the humanist response to disaster events. HDR Drive raises funds for disaster recovery, HDR Network spreads the word of a disaster to the humanist community, and the HDR staff is currently developing the first organized humanist disaster recovery volunteer program, HDR Teams. HUMANIST SERVICE CORPS

The first full year of the Humanist Service Corps will launch in July 2015 as six humanist volunteers begin a year of service in and around the witch camps of northern Ghana. The camps house people who have been expelled from their villages under accusations of witchcraft. By protecting the accused, exploring the roots of the problem, and drawing world attention to this human rights issue, these volunteers will advance the rights of women and children in West Africa as they engage in cultural exchange and establish a lasting humanist presence in international service.
