About Rock Like Mike
To know Michael Davidson was to be in awe of him. He had an incredible breadth of interests at which he excelled: cardiac surgery, flying glider planes, fly fishing, cooking and of course, fatherhood. He approached each new challenge with unequaled passion and commitment.
So it came as no surprise to any of us that Mike could play guitar like nobody's business, ripping out killer solos without ever having taken a lesson. He was a member of the band Off Label for three and a half years, and part of a larger musical family including other musicians from the town of Wellesley and the Boston medical community.
Mike Davidson inspired people…to be better, to do more, to never back down from a challenge. A man with a gun took him away from us. But he didn't take away Mike's legacy, the fact that he inspired, and continues to inspire others to achieve great things.
On September 26th, at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, members of Mike’s musical family are hosting a tribute to our fallen friend, bandmate and colleague. We invite all who knew him or wish they had to join us for this celebration of a life well lived. To paraphrase his mentor Andy Eisenhauer, we should all aspire to ‘be like Mike’. For this one night, let's get together and Rock Like Mike.
