Multicultural Programs
Lotus Music & Dance will run our Fall Online Auction from Oct 1-31, 2016 to benefit the Arts in Education World Dance Passport Program. Each year, our Lotus Master Artists bring multicultural dance and music assemblies, classes, residencies and workshops to approximately 5,000 students. We need your support to continue this vital programming, which furthers our mission to keep alive and accessible traditional performing arts from around the world.
Lotus Music & Dance has been teaching and presenting dance and music of New York City’s diverse communities since 1989. Lotus Music & Dance is a performance sanctuary and center for education in traditional art forms. It promotes and celebrates the world’s cultural heritage, so often unwritten, keeping the music and dance traditions of world cultures alive and accessible.
Aside from our varied schedule of unique, multicultural performances, we offer instruction in traditional ethnic forms of dance and music as well as Arts-In-Education World Dance Passport programs to schools throughout the tri-state area. Lotus Music & Dance also presents Manhattan's only open air pow wow, the annual Drums Along the Hudson®: A Native American Festival and Multicultural Celebration, in collaboration with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and sponsored in part by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York City Councilmember Ydanis Rodriguez.

The Board of Directors and Friends of Lotus Music & Dance will hold a special Fall Reception to Bring the World to Students in support of our Arts in Education World Dance Passport Program. We bring the world to approximately 5,000 students through our multicultural dance and music assemblies, classes, residencies and workshops. An integral part of our fundraising event will be our online auction, offering unique and beautiful goods and services that represent our multi-cultural institution.
