Since the Armenian EyeCare Project began in 1992, we has been following our vision for Armenia and — thanks to supporters like you — have many accomplishments to celebrate. These include:

• seeing hundreds of thousands of patients in Armenia and restoring the sight of nearly 20,000 residents who would otherwise be blind
• delivering a state-of-the-art Mobile Eye Hospital to the country
• reducing infant blindness in Armenia by 90 percent, saving hundreds of babies from blindness, through our cutting-edge Center of Excellence for the Prevention of Infant and Childhood Blindness
• training hundreds of doctors and medical personnel in the art and science of ophthalmology
• sponsoring eight fellowships for Armenian ophthalmologists at the finest medical institutions in America, each fellow later returning to Armenia to train colleagues and direct clinics in their sub-specialty
• completing 52 medical missions to Armenia
• handing out more than 70,000 prescription eyeglasses at no charge to residents in need

As much as we have accomplished in the past 25 years, there is still much to do.  Access to eye care — geographically and financially — is the biggest challenge in Armenia and one that must be addressed. That is why we are working on our most ambitious project yet: developing five Regional Eye Clinics throughout Armenia by 2020 to ensure that quality eye care truly is accessible to everyone in the country — even those living far from the capital.
