Vajrayana Foundation's Third Annual Auction Closes 6 PM (Pacific) Wednesday, November 30

This is more than a Dharma auction!

Check out the the shawls, scarves, jewelry, textiles, notecards and more items that would make perfect holiday gifts!

All auction proceeds this year will support our beautiful shrine room and Dharma programs, including installation of the new chandelier, shrine room repairs, and the new replacement generator bought recently to keep the lights on in the shrine room, kitchen, dining hall and offices when power is out. Our overall goal is to raise $25,000.

This is an important way each one of us with a connection to Pema Osel Ling and the Dudjom lineage can support our organization. The auctions in the past two years were a critical source of revenue for the Foundation, and we really need everyone's help to make this Third Annual Auction a success.

About the Vajrayana Foundation and Pema Ösel Ling. The Vajrayana Foundation was founded by Dzogchen master Lama Tharchin Rinpoche in 1988 at the request of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, widely recognized as one of Tibet’s greatest Buddhist teachers. Our mission is to establish, preserve and transmit the spiritual, artistic, and cultural traditions of Tibet and Tibetan Buddhism in the West. To accomplish this, the Foundation provides opportunities for introduction to Buddhist teachings, participation in contemplative study, and practice of sacred arts. Our center, which follows the Nyingma Dudjom Tersar tradition, is called Pema Ösel Ling (Lotus Land of Clear Light), and is located in Santa Cruz, California.

Pema Ösel Ling is a place where one can receive teaching and guidance directly from authentic living masters, continuing an unbroken and extremely powerful wisdom lineage of teachings and meditation techniques.  Vajrayana (or Tibetan) Buddhism teaches methods of transcending ordinary mind and its practices can lead to a complete understanding of the nature of mind and reality itself, and the direct experience of enlightenment.  For this reason, it had been practiced in secret, passed down from teacher to student, heart to heart.  While the West had been devoting its energy to cultivating technology, Tibet had been like an entire country in meditation retreat. Distanced from the rest of the world by its mountainous borders, the Tibetans have spent the last 16 centuries refining an understanding of the nature of mind and reality itself. We are now extremely fortunate to have access to these precious teachings and enlightened teachers here in America.

The Foundation has been a leading provider of residential and commuter programs in spiritual development and contemplative study since 1991. Our retreats regularly attract participants from throughout the United States and from around the world. In addition to our onsite teachings, we have created a significant online presence through teachings posted on our website, and a through an online program providing regular webcast teachings and online video discussion groups for students completing their Ngondro (Preliminary Practices).

We also create opportunities to train and support calligraphers, artists, dancers and musicians in the Tibetan sacred arts and serve as a place of pilgrimage for spiritual seekers who find insight and inspiration from the many stupas (reliquary monuments), statues, and other sacred works of art produced here.

Bidding closes November 30, and all items will be shipped to the winners in time for Holiday gift giving.
