YPIE's Online Auction is Closed!

This fall Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary at our annual Gala on Thursday, September 14th.  It is hard to believe that our small ‘start-up’ has evolved into a robust force in Yonkers serving more than 1000 students each year as they get ready for, into and thru college. We’ve seen first-hand the inequity that exists for low-income students, and the challenges they face both in school and at home. Earning a college degree is not a given for many of our students. Yet despite their obstacles, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing their tenacity and participating as they’ve reached their goals and achieved their dreams for themselves and their families.

Since our beginning, YPIE has been blessed with the guidance and support of many individuals who believe that attaining educational equality is one of the most pressing issues of our day.  At our gala this year, we are thrilled to honor one of these individuals, David Westin, a founding board member who currently serves as YPIE’s Chair.  No one deserves this honor more than David. Since our inception David has brought his wisdom, business acumen and leadership skills to our organization and has been responsible for ably guiding YPIE to grow into the successful organization we are today. As the former President of ABC News and current morning anchor of Bloomberg Daybreak Americas, the morning talk show on Bloomberg News, David’s experience has helped to shape YPIE over the past decade. His commitment to public education for low-income students has been an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of working with him.
