You Placed a Winning Bid -- Now What?

All winning bidders will be sent a confirmation email.  It will take us approximately three to five business days to close the auction items and process all the credit cards.  If you are the highest bidder, your credit card will be billed.  Once AHLEF has shipped your item, you will be sent an email confirmation.  Please be sure to read our auction payment and shipping policies below.

Important Shipping Fee Policy

An additional $10 flat shipping fee applies to ALL gift certificates/vouchers to ensure prompt and secure delivery within the continental United States. This policy is non-negotiable, and by placing a bid on any certificate/voucher, you agree to pay this fee if you are the winning bidder. If you are purchasing more than one such item, we will bundle them into one package if possible.  Additional fees may apply for International shipping and merchandise items (see more details below). 

AHLEF requires adult signature receipt on certificates/vouchers because the they cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Shipping charges will be billed directly to the credit card in your “My Account.”

We are unable to expedite ANY packages, so please do not contact AHLEF or our donors to request expedited shipping. 

You are responsible and liable for ensuring the accuracy of your shipping address and that a person will be available to sign for the package at the specified address (P.O. boxes are not acceptable); please double-check your "My Account" profile (even if you believe the information is correct) to confirm that your shipping address is 100% correct. If an alternate shipping address needs to be provided, winning bidders must notify AHLEF via email at no later than November 17, 2017. 

General Auction Item Policies:

AHLEF is prohibited from asking for any extensions or modifications to these auction items, which are generously donated by companies that support AHLEF's scholarship and research programs.

All items are sold "AS IS.” No returns will be accepted, and no refunds permitted.  It is important that you take note of any restrictions, expiration dates, blackout dates, or special instructions because all sales are final.

Please make sure you are aware that all bids are final and cannot be removed or retracted.  If you are the winning bidder, you will enter into a legal contract to purchase the item and will be considered the buyer of the item.

Travel Items:  All hotel stays are for two people (unless otherwise noted); are subject to availability; cannot be extended beyond the specified expiration date; and require advance registration, notification of certificate use at the time of reservation, and presentation of original documentation upon arrival.  A credit card may be required to confirm a reservation.  Lost or stolen vouchers/certificates cannot be replaced.  Taxes and any resort fees are the responsibility of the guest unless otherwise noted. Incidentals will be the responsibility of the guest. Since some blackout dates may apply (especially during holidays and special event periods), AHLEF recommends to our bidders that they have a few redemption dates in mind in order to avoid disappointment.  We have noted all restrictions in the item descriptions that were provided to us.  We do not have the ability to confirm the availability of specific dates or rooms prior to purchase.

Payment:  Each buyer must pay the full purchase price of each item purchased, including any applicable shipping costs, at the close of the auction.  If you are the winning bidder, payment will be automatically charged to the credit card you provided in your “My Account” profile.  Typically, all items are processed within 3-5 business days.  Your credit card statement will show a charge from “AHLEF”. Winners with declined cards will have 2 business days to provide an alternate form of payment.

Your item will be shipped after the payment has been processed. You are responsible and liable for ensuring the accuracy of your shipping address; please double-check your "My Account" profile (even if you believe the information is correct) to confirm that your shipping address is 100% correct.

Shipping:  Shipping fees reflect domestic shipping within the United States only.  Shipping outside the United States will be calculated separately.  International winners are responsible for all customs fees and import duties.

Merchandise Items - Unless otherwise stated, all merchandise includes shipping to anywhere in the United States and will be shipped directly from our donor.  AHLEF will email winning bidders a copy of the auction agreement/donation documentation, which includes contact information for the merchandise donor.  While AHLEF provides the donor with the winning bidder’s name and shipping address (which is the same address in your “My Account” profile), we recommend that the winning bidder follow up with the donor regarding delivery.  Each donor will ship the merchandise using their preferred delivery carrier.

Federal Income Tax Information: Although AHLEF is a nonprofit charity, bids are not tax-deductible as you are receiving a good or service in return for payment. If your winning bid exceeds the fair market value of the item, the difference may be considered tax-deductible. More information can be found on the IRS website.
