February is Heart Month and Starting Hearts is celebrating by presenting a special online silent auction just for you, our loyal followers . Bid on exceptional offerings from our amazing supporters in the Vail Valley. The online portion of Heart Health Month Goodies from Starting Hearts! is now open. The auction will run from February 1, 2018 to April 15, 2018, with the live event taking place on February 9, 2018.

Starting Hearts is pleased to announce the 6th Annual All You Need Is Heart event, which will take place at Colorado Mountain College, Edwards campus, on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
The event is held in collaboration with Vail Health, who generously provides doctors, nurses and equipment to serve attendees, including screening tests and consultations. “Vail Health is proud to partner with Starting Hearts on this important event, which promotes awareness and makes heart health screenings available to everyone in our community,” said Vail Health President and CEO Doris Kirchner.
The event will be packed with activities, including numerous cardiac screenings, valued at over $1,200.00, for just $99.00, from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Available screenings include Body Mass Index (BMI), electrocardiograms (EKGs), venous ultrasound, carotid artery, audiology, and cholesterol/triglycerides. Additionally, Q&A consultations with cardiologist Dr. Jerry Greenberg and internist Dr. Dennis Lipton will be available. Attendees will have an opportunity to browse a silent auction with items donated by generous local retailers as well as meet with a number of health and wellness vendors.

Starting Hearts is a nonprofit dedicated to saving the lives of Sudden Cardiac Arrest victims through free CPR and AED training and access programs.
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide a platform for citizens, supporters, and community stakeholders to improve outcomes for sudden cardiac arrest victims through empowering education, widespread distribution of defibrillators in public locations, and activation of citizen first responders to confidently and capably provide early care when needed.
Founder, Lynn Blake is a SCA survivor and resident of the Vail Valley, who attributes her saved life to CPR and early defibrillation. She now travels around in “The Heart Rod,” a decommissioned transit bus converted CPR/DEFIB classroom on wheels, teaching people how to save lives. Starting Hearts’ programs encourage participants to immediately recognize SCA and to CALL. PUSH. SHOCK.™
