Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation – 2020 Auction "It's For The Kids"
Auction Ends: Mar 16, 2020 09:00 PM PDT

Thank You!

Dear MPCSD Parents,

During these rapidly changing and challenging times for our families and community, MPAEF volunteer Board of Directors and staff would like to acknowledge and thank our many supporters for your generosity.    We have been overwhelmed with your support of our auction event - whether it was through donating the price of your ticket when we had to cancel the party, donating an item for the auction, hosting a party, supporting this year’s fund-a-need or bidding for an item online.  All of these small actions are meaningful to our team and will help ensure that the Foundation is able to meet its fundraising goals for this school year.  From the bottom of our hearts - thank you!

Sincerely,

Katie Rottier & Sarah Thayer, MPAEF Co-Presidents

Alison Poirier, Maria Lehmkuhl & Laura Low Ah Kee, MPAEF Auction Co-Chairs

Hoping to donate to this year's Fund-A-Need?  You still can!

Our community’s generosity has raised $9,670+ so far for this year’s fund-a-need. Even though the online auction is closed, you can still make a cash donation to support this year’s Fund-A-Need: Visual & Performing Arts programs through our Bidding for Good website through March 31, 2020.

Make your donation by March 31 via the DONATE CASH sidebar on the right

Want to donate to Fund-A-Need via check or Donor Advised Fund (DAF)? Yes, please! This helps the Foundation, as we won’t have to pay credit card fees. If you are interested in donating via check or DAF, please contact the MPAEF offices at foundationoffice@mpaef.org.

Plus - special drawings for Fund-a-Need donors at these levels by March 31:

  • All $5,000 donors will be entered to win a $250 gift certificate to Sundance, The SteakHouse
  • All $1,000 fund-a-need donors will be entered to win a $200 gift certificate to Zola Palo Alto
  • All $100 fund-a-need donors will be entered to win a 25-class pack to Barry’s.

Winners will be drawn in early April and will be announced in a future MPAEF newsletter.

Auction Item Pick-Up: We appreciate your patience and support during this unusual time for our community. Please review the information below to learn how you can expect to receive the items you have won via our online auction.

Adult, Kid & Teacher-Hosted Parties: If you are a successful winner of a ticket for an adult, kid or teacher-hosted party, please refer to the information included in the winning bidder email which includes the host contact information and date/time of the event. If you have specific questions regarding the event/party you have purchased a ticket to, please contact the party host directly. In the event that a party host must cancel a party due to an unforeseeable event (e.g., moving out of state, continued community health recommendations, etc.), guests who purchased tickets will be given the choice of turning their ticket purchase into a donation to MPAEF or getting a refund. Party hosts and guests will work with the MPAEF office as this need arises to confirm and execute next steps.

Physical items (wine, gift certificates, jewelry, sporting goods, etc.):  If you are the successful winner of a physical item via the auction, we will schedule pick-up time slots for winning bidders to pick up their items once the Shelter in Place restrictions are lifted (currently after April 7). All physical auction items are securely stored in the MPAEF offices. At the time of the auction closing (March 16, 2020), we have not yet scheduled these times due to the quickly changing recommendations coming from our County Health Offices and MPCSD Leadership regarding Covid-19. We will communicate out to all winning bidders once the pick-up times have been scheduled and will work to accommodate schedules to ensure all items can be pick-up in a reasonable time frame.  If there is an urgency for a winning bidder to pick-up their physical auction item, please contact MPAEF Executive Director, Carrie Chen (carrie@mpaef.org), who will work with you to determine how to best fulfill your request while keeping our staff and community safe and healthy.

Items to be redeemed via an electronic certificate:  If you are the successful winner of an item that is redeemed via an electronic ticket, this is noted at the bottom of the winning bidder email you received from Bidding for Good. MPAEF staff will be emailing these items out to the winning bidders during the next 2+ weeks.  If you have questions regarding an item that is to be redeemed via an electronic certificate, please email auction@mpaef.org.

Other Auction Item Pick-Up Notes:  MPAEF will hold any unclaimed auction items until May 20, 2020 - unless further restrictions are announced that may change this date.  After this date, unclaimed items may be re-auctioned to the next highest bidder.  For any other questions re: your auction item pick-up/fulfillment, please feel free to contact Carrie Chen, MPAEF Executive Director, at carrie@mpaef.org.
