The SAVMA Auction brings together students from every class, faculty, interns, residents, alumni, and community members and is one of the largest vet school events of the Fall!

Proceeds from the Auction offsets the cost of veterinary related experiences that enhance the veterinary toolkit of Cornell veterinary students via the SAVMA Travel Fund.

This year, a virtual silent auction will take place from November 1st through November 5th and culminates in a live auction beginning November 5th at 7PM.

FAQ's

What is SAVMA Auction?
SAVMA Auction is a live and silent auction and one of the biggest events of the year - bringing together students from every class, faculty, interns, residents, alumni and community members! Money raised helps offset the cost of veterinary related experiences that enhance the veterinary toolkit of Cornell veterinary students . It is a great opportunity for members of the Cornell and greater community to fellowship with one another and make memories that will last a lifetime!

What is the difference between Silent and Live Auction?
The Silent Auction will be virtual and will go live from November 1st through November 5th. It will feature items from a variety of businesses in Ithaca and the surrounding areas as well as several online companies who have donated gift baskets, services and products! Additionally, Silent Auction features items from Cornell's talented student body such as professional pet photography and custom scrub tops/caps!

The Live Auction will be an in-person event on November 5th from 7-9pm in the 1st floor Vet School Atrium and features a variety of different experiences such as group dinners, bird watching and boating trips that people typically bid on as a group. It also features a number of one of a kind items. This year's Live Auction is "A Night with the Stars," highlighting all the wonderful faculty and staff (our stars) who help make the vet school what it is today. So, come join us for some food, socialize with faculty, and get to strut down the red carpet and take a photo with our "Hollywood" stars! Cocktail attire optional.

Where do the proceeds go?
Proceeds from SAVMA Auction help Cornell veterinary students offset the cost of attending veterinary-related experiences not included in our core curriculum. In the past, these experiences have included SAVMA Symposium, FARVets, Rural Area Veterinary Services (RAVS) and the Veterinary Leadership Conference among many other experiences!

How much are tickets and where can I purchase them?
Tickets purchased before the event are $15 and are available under "Order Tickets". Student tickets are discounted at the price of $10. Tickets can be purchased at the door and will incur a $5 fee and are cash only or through Venmo.

What if I would like to donate an item to Auction?
If you would like to donate an item or service to Auction, please contact Katie Heckman at kh789@cornell.edu . Silent Auction donations typically include gift certificates, gift baskets, company products and services while Live Auction donations have included anything from boating trips to bird watching trips that students tend to bid on as a group. If you are interested in sending a monetary donation, that is an option as well.
