School of the Future Annual Auction 2022
School of the Future is an example of New York City public education that works. It is a gem of a place where students transform intellectually, emotionally and socially.
SOF is a small, secondary school that serves children from sixth grade to twelfth grade in Manhattan. As many of our Middle School students choose to stay for High School, we enjoy the unique opportunity to foster our students growth from the time they leave elementary school to the time they are accepted into college. Close to 100 percent of our graduating seniors go on to college, many with scholarships.
All programs outside the classroom - including arts and enrichment instruction - are paid for the by SOF PA. We raise money primarily through direct appeals to our families and our auction.
In the past we have fundraised to support the arts and enrichment, and while we will continue to do that, funding related to core SoF offerings such as our HS Tutoring program (to support MS students), Technology support, Professional Development to continue with preparedness for next year. Additionally, we hope to expand our mental health initiative to meet the social and emotional needs of our students and families with specialized parent group therapy and workshops. And lastly, since more classrooms have been needed, we are exploring roof construction and updates so that we can safely hold classes on the roof.
The auction is sponsored by the Parents Association and all donations are tax deductible.
