The Art of Belonging: Uniting Communities of All Abilities Together Through Art.
Greetings!
Port Resources is holding an art exhibition - THE ART OF BELONGING for artists from Port and our community.
There's over two-hundred original art works created by Port Resources client artists and local novice and professional community artists that will be on display and available for purchase.
Art will be on display for in-person viewing at Barridoff Auction Gallery, 312 Gannett Drive in South Portland from November 27th through November 30th with a sponsor and community members reception on Thursday November 30th from 5pm-7pm.
All art will be available for online viewing and purchase here on this web site starting on 11/13/2023
The Art of Belonging project began with an inservice training on inclusivity and thriving with a sense of belonging by Mandy Levine. Art is a connecting concept that spans all demographics and cultures. We took the the idea of an art show further than we have before by inviting more of the community making this event inclusive and diverse.
The result.. for many months a small group of clients, some family members, and staff met to create art with materials they were given. This included canvas, brushes, and acrylic paint. The act of creating something beautiful brought them together, creating bonds and sharing feelings. Because of this, they want to showcase their art together, for all to see and enjoy!
Thank you to all particapting artists, helping hands, the folks at Barridoff Auction Gallery, and our sponsors!!
