Featured Evening Events

The Celebration will feature an intimate view of the Company performing works from 1986 to 2006 -- rarely seen repertory gems, a sneak preview, and beloved favorites. For this evening Doug Varone has specially arranged a suite of dances from the 80s, 90s, and 00s set to piano scores by Chopin, Schubert and Rachmaninoff, accompanied by virtuoso pianist Melvin Chen. In addition to an array of repertory classics, the evening will include an exclusive, in-advance-of-the- public showing of an excerpt from Boats Leaving, Varone's stirring new work to music by the contemporary composer Arvo Pärt.

Interlaced with the performances -- a festive celebration -- jazz music performed by the Richard Clements Trio, a moveable feast catered by Joseph Cady/Events, choice wines courtesy of Prescott Wines, Inc. and beautiful, handmade pastries from Chef Madeline Lanciani's Duane Park Patisserie.

The evening will begin with a special Benefactor Wine Tasting with Doug Varone in The Newspace's upstairs lounge and patio. Fine, limited-production wines from Austria will be presented by Prescott Wines. The captivating blues vocalist, Cat Martino, will provide musical accompaniment. A Silent Auction runs throughout the evening.
